Summer Music Lessons - Coming 2021

The best thing about summer?  It's pretty nice outside.  Since we're living in a time of social distancing why not go outside and learn a new instrument?

Sign up for 5 one-on-one sessions with me for $100.  Each session will be set to accommodate your varying summer schedule.  This lessons will take place in my backyard (or garage if the weather isn't being very helpful).  You can also take these lessons online and I'll do my best to help make the technical side work for us.  See below for all of the details.

Guitar Lessons

When it comes to guitar I try to evaluate the interests of each individual student.  I have a broad approach to teaching guitar, with a personal background in rock, jazz, and blues styles.  I also try to include music theory as I believe it is integral to developing an understanding to music and proper musicianship.

Once a basic understand of any instrument is reach you may then branch off to a specific style or genre.  Always keep in mind the value of incorporating bits and pieces from other musical styles .
Drum Lessons

Drums are the rhythmic backbone to any band/group.  Drum have the ability to make people dance.  The nature of any drum or percussive instrument is to cut through the other instruments and punch out a solid groove.

I work on three points when it comes to teaching drums:  drum sticking and rudiments, steady timing utilizing a variety of drum beats and styles, and musicianship (how to play with others, dynamic control, etc.).
Bass Lessons
I love bass.  It's the instrument I have the most practical experience playing live.  I play both Upright Bass and Electric Bass Guitar, but my forte is the Bass Guitar.

The bass player shares the feel/groove with the drummer.  The bass is part of the rhythm section and requires a strong send of time.  I work with bass players at understanding how to fill out a chord progression while maintaining a solid sense of time/rhythmic integrity.  There is a music and TAB reading component, as with any instrument I teach.
